Modine Manufacturing earns work from Chinese vehicle manufacturer

Modine Manufacturing Co., a Racine-based company that makes thermal management systems used in vehicles, said this week it received a production award for its cooling module from Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. Ltd., a Chinese commercial vehicle manufacturer.

Citing customer confidentiality, the Chinese company did not provide details about the production award. However, Modine (NYSE: MOD), which has two manufacturing plants in China, is expected to begin making the products at the facilities in 2016.

"This is the first major award resulting from our strategy to diversify Modine's Asia business, which established a reputation in China serving multi-national customers in the off-highway market," said Scott Bowser, vice president of Modine's division in Asia.

Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co. , a publicly traded company on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, makes light-, medium- and heavy-duty vehicles.
