SEPTEMBER PERMITS TO DRILL

The Railroad Commission of Texas issued a total of 3,013 original drilling permits in September 2014 compared to 1,531 in September 2013. The September total included 2,667 permits to drill new oil and gas wells, 49 to re-enter existing well bores and 297 for re-completions. Permits issued in September 2014 included 934 oil, 173 gas, 1,811 oil and gas, 82 injection, one service and 12 other permits.

AUGUST CRUDE OIL PRODUCTION

Texas preliminary August 2014 crude oil production averaged 2,232,400 barrels daily, up from the 1,796,244 barrels daily average of August 2013.

The preliminary Texas crude oil production figure for August 2014 is 69,204,407 barrels, up from 55,683,549 barrels reported during August 2013.

SEPTEMBER OIL AND GAS COMPLETIONS

In September 2014, operators reported 2,048 oil, 328 gas, 109 injection and seven other completions compared to 1,456 oil, 424 gas, 10 injection and three other completions in September 2013.

Total well completions for 2014 year to date are 23,149 up from 19,114 recorded during the same period in 2013.

Operators reported 342 holes plugged and one dry hole in September 2014 compared to 267 holes plugged and zero dry holes in September 2013.

AUGUST NATURAL GAS PRODUCTION

Texas oil and gas wells produced 621,505,586 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of gas based upon preliminary production figures for August 2014 up from the August 2013 preliminary gas production total of 610,322,346 Mcf. Texas preliminary August total gas production averaged 20,048,567 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) a day.

Texas production in August 2014 came from 170,243 oil wells and 94,088 gas wells.
