Chips & salsa:
Can’t get hotter, fresher chips than at this to tilleria, which also makes its own hot, fresh salsas. La Nueva de Zacatecas,several area locations.

Ceviche: Snappy lime and picante spices make even a chico portion grande at Costa Azul, 1521 N. Main St., FW.


Enchiladas:
Everything’s better with Juanes Taqueria’s rich, sweet, nutty molé poblano sauce on it. 3401 Altamesa Blvd., FW.


Tamales:
For the fearless diner, huitlacoche (corn smut) tamales at Lanny’s Alta Cocina Mexicana, 3405 W. 7th St., FW.


Tacos:
Start with a three-pack of the ultra-tender, lightly spicy pollo guisado, then cruise the rest of the menu at Benito’s, 3708 Decatur Av., Ste B, FW.

Flan: You’ve never had it creamier than at Cuco’s Sandwich Shop, 6650 Glenview Dr., North Richland Hills.
