Does Vimeo have an iOS app?

We most certainly do! You can download it from iTunes right here. The app is compatible with any device that can run iOS.

What can I do with the Vimeo app for iOS?

We completely rebuilt the iOS app from the ground up to focus on watching and sharing in a fresh design. You don't even have to be connected to the Internet — you can add videos to your device for offline viewing! And sharing is a simple swipe away, via email, iMessage, AirDrop, Tweet, and Facebook.

How do I add videos to my device for offline viewing?

Using the fingers or thumbs on your human hands, swipe right-to-left on the video thumbnail you want to save. The video will be automatically added to your Watch Later queue, with a video preview in place of the static thumbnail. Swipe far enough and you can select the down arrow to begin downloading the video. Fancy, right? When you add a video to Watch Later, we’ll ask you if you’d like to add it to your device for offline viewing. You can also add videos to your device by default: change your preference in the Vimeo app settings!

Videos you save for offline viewing are added to your device within the app. The videos are automatically added to your Watch Later queue, too.

How do I delete videos from my device I’ve added for offline viewing?

In the same way you saved the video, swipe right-to-left on the video thumbnail you want to remove and select the down arrow (you’ll be asked if you really want to do this, in case you do it on accident!). If the video has been added and you remove it from your Watch Later queue, the video will also be removed from your device.

What can I do in the app when my device has no Internet connection?

While in offline mode, you can watch all the videos you have added for offline viewing. If you like a video or remove a video from Watch Later while offline, that action will sync back to the site when your device reconnects to the Internet.

How do I upload using iOS?

With the Vimeo app for iOS 8 on your device, you can upload from the app itself, or directly from your Camera Roll!

Within the Vimeo app, navigate your way to My Videos, and select Camera Roll (follow these instructions if the app does not have permission to access your Camera Roll). Swipe slowly left-to-right on the video you wish to upload until the Share paper airplane appears. On the next screen there will be options to select the video’s quality and privacy (Public, Private, or only fellow Vimeo members you choose). Tap ‘Upload’ to begin the uploading process and to add a title and description to your video.

From the Photos app in iOS 8, select the video you’d like to upload, then tap on the Share icon (the square with an upward-pointing arrow). Tap Vimeo to reveal the same upload process you see from within the Vimeo app.

Videos from iOS 7 only have two privacy options: Public and Private. You can tweak the privacy of these videos after they have been uploaded to Vimeo.

Why is my upload taking so long? Is this thing working?

Depending on the length of the video and your device's Internet connection, it can take some time for your videos to appear on Vimeo. If you have a longer video, we recommend uploading it over WiFi. You may want to try uploading via the mobile site from your iOS device instead.

I found a video while browsing Vimeo.com that I’d like to save. How can I do that?

Quite simple! If you’re logged into Vimeo.com you can add it to your Watch Later queue, or you can copy the URL and then open the Vimeo app. When the app opens, you’ll be asked if you want to watch the video or add it to your Watch Later queue. Magical!

Can I use a password manager, like 1Password or LastPass, to log in to the Vimeo app?

You sure can, but certain kinds of passwords generated by these services won’t work with the app. If you’re having trouble logging in with your password manager, try generating a new password without Alt Codes, or enable the setting to "Avoid ambiguous characters".
