Whenever you’re tailgating, you want everything to go perfectly. Beautiful day…

But when you’re covering tailgates, you NEED everything to go perfectly, because a little hiccup could mean the difference between a stinker and a really fun episode.

And this year, the first seven weeks of the season have been anything but Easy Street.

Okay, Football Wizard, I’ll tell you more… First there was opening night in Seattle, where a concert took over the one dedicated RV lot for Seahawks Super-Fans. Add to that concerns about losing light, because any time the sun goes down before the game starts, we’re hustling to finish the episode before dark… I mean the last thing you wanna do is run into a zombie, right?

Week two was another Thursday night game, and we decided to do a bit that involved inebriated fans singing in key… Yikes!

Trust me, no American Idols were coming outta Baltimore! Especially from on the field, as the Rice scandal broke out less then 48 hours before we arrived.
The following week we were in Believeland and had a blast, but there was supposed to be rain, so this genius is wearing heavy work boots on what ended up being a sunny 75 degree day… Just look at all the water I had to drink!

In week four we went to a sub .500 Indy tailgate that was less than their best effort.

Ok, they tried a little!
The next week we went to Washington on Monday night, the week after the Skingate controversy was back in the news and The Daily Show ripped into fans, making our task of finding friendly faces a little tougher. Then again when you have a great fan base, it’s easy to find more than a few fun fans!

In week six, St. Louis was under a Tornado Watch, right during the main hours of their Monday night tailgate… Thankfully we weren’t swept away, but we did get heavy rain and apparently, after we left, heavy rioting! Good thing the Rambulence was on site!

Which leads us to this week when we were looking for a beautiful trip that we had already dubbed our Fall Foliage Tailgating Tour!

Unfortunately, these scenes were few and far between as we ran into a monsoon in New England!

Oh, and moments after we called it a wrap, we got booted off the premises…
So for all you counting at home… In our first seven weeks, that’s five night games, three national controversies, two super storm systems, and one tailgate ejection!
And despite all this craziness I still, unequivocally… Love My Job!

Here’s to the rainbow… after the storm of these first seven weeks!
