World Series Game 7 odds and pick - Fall Classic champ to be crowned in deciding game

The Linemakers pick a side

The Giants and Royals will compete in Game 7 of the Fall Classic tonight, just the second time since 2002 baseball fans have been treated to a World Series that has gone the distance.

Manager Bruce Bochy will send Tim Hudson to the hill to face the Royals' Jeremy Guthrie. William Hill U.S. has installed the Royals as the -140 favorite, with the Giants drawing +130.

After struggling through a brutal September (21.2 IP, 8.72 ERA), Hudson has righted the ship -- to an extent. He was stellar against the Nationals in the NLDS, tossing 7.1 innings of one-run ball (with eight Ks and zero BBs), but merely average in his next two starts (12 IP, 5.25 ERA). He allowed three earned runs in 5.2 innings in his Game 3 start against the Royals, a game the Giants lost 3-2.

Guthrie, meanwhile, has been an unlikely ace for K.C., allowing two or fewer earned runs in six of his last seven starts, including the Royals' 3-2 victory in Game 3. His current groove is one reason the Royals are favored to win this game and take the series.

Weekly Read-Option - Georgia still awaiting the return of top back

Muschamp seeking first win in UF-UGA rivalry

By: Brian Edwards
Todd-Gurley-Dogs-FTR-102014-GETTY Todd Gurley

Going back to 1985, the biggest underdog situation for Florida against Georgia came in 2004, 12 days after Ron Zook was fired. The Bulldogs were favored by 7 in that game and they won 31-24 for a push. UGA is favored by 13.5 vs. UF this week. Will Muschamp is 0-7 in the rivalry, going 0-3 as UF's coach and 0-4 when he was a safety at Georgia.

Georgia RB Todd Gurley is eligible to return Nov. 15 against Auburn, but Georgia is appealing the NCAA's four-game punishment. He has already missed back-to-back games since being suspended pending an investigation into reports of him signing autographs for money. Muschamp stated this week that he expects Gurley to be reinstated before Saturday's kick in Jacksonville. The Bulldogs have cruised to a pair of easy victories at Missouri and at Arkansas without Gurley.

Quick Hitters

--Ole Miss got good news on Tuesday when senior safety Cody Prewitt, sophomore DE Robert Nkemdiche and sophomore OT Laremy Tunsil all practiced after getting injured at LSU. Expect that trio to be upgraded to 'probable,' while junior center Ben Still remains a question mark. LB Denzel Nkemdiche broke his ankle in Baton Rouge and is out for the season. The Rebels host Auburn this weekend, and as of early Wednesday, were listed as 2.5-point home favorites. They are 8-3-1 against the spread as home 'chalk' under Hugh Freeze. Meanwhile, Auburn is 2-0 ATS as a road underdog during Gus Malzahn's tenure.
