The Foundation for Deep Ecology approached us with an ambitious goal: Give people an unflinching look at the real costs of our unslakable thirst for energy, via photographs and essays by some of the world’s most provocative photographers and energy experts. The resulting large-format book, Energy: Overdevelopment and the Delusion of Endless Growth explores the impacts of the global energy economy: from oil spills and mountaintop-removal coal mining to oversized wind farms and desert-destroying solar power plants. EnergyReality.org delivers much of the content in a way that is highly shareable and supported by additional media.

Shalebubble.org

The mainstream media regularly repeats claims by the fossil fuel industry and the federal government that the US is undergoing a long-term energy revolution thanks to hydraulic fracturing (“fracking”) in shale deposits. They also claim that our new oil and natural gas riches will boost the economy for decades and serve as a bridge for developing future renewable energy. ShaleBubble.org refutes these claims with in-depth analysis, reports, and creative media that clearly demonstrate the so-called “shale revolution” is really just a short term bubble.

PETROLIFY: The unholy love child of Big Oil and Big Pharma. Yes, it’s a spoof, but we created the Petrolify commercial as social commentary that reminds us to take responsibility for our personal addiction to fossil fuels. It’s easy (and warranted) to point the fingers at giant corporations, but it’s past time we included ourselves among the culpable. Future generations most certainly won’t ignore our gluttony or absolve us. We launched Petrolify.com to host the viral video and provide additional information about what we can do to kick our group addiction.
