RRC Brownfield Response Program (BRP)

Welcome to the RRC Brownfields Response Program (BRP)

The objective of the BRP is to restore brownfields properties in communities across Texas by increasing the redevelopment potential of abandoned oil and gas sites. The RRC BRP provides technical and financial support for redevelopment with little to no cost to local governments, non-profit organizations, tribes, universities, school districts and economic development corporations through a brownfields grant from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

Goals of the BRP

  • Provide grant-funded phase I and II environmental site assessments for targeted brownfields sites
  • Provide no cost cleanups on qualified sites
  • Coordinate the approach to site assessment, cleanup and redevelopment through the RRC's Voluntary Cleanup Program
