FORT WORTH — The healthy-lifestyle Blue Zones Project, which got up and running just this summer, is already getting new top leadership.
Julie Wilson, vice president for the project in Fort Worth, resigned. Wilson joined the company in February, and her last day was Friday. She is being replaced by Suzanne Duda, who previously led Healthways’ business strategy and government relations work with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, according to a Healthways biography. Wilson, a former top executive for Chesapeake Energy in North Texas and the owner of a Fort Worth business development agency, said she was brought on by Healthways to launch the project and now wants a “slightly slower pace.” “One of our nine core principles is downshift, and another is ‘Put family first,’ ” Wilson said of the Blue Zones Project. “So I am kind of combining those two principles. I am trying to downshift a little bit so that I can put family first.”Duda was not available for comment Friday. The Blue Zones Project is a healthy-city initiative based on making good health choices available to residents. It is still holding meetings to engage the public and recruit volunteers.Caty Hirst, 817-390-7984 Twitter: @catyhirst
