SWANNER, William Edward "Bill" Went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on October 26, 2014, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Bill was born on May 17, 1935, in Littlefield, TX, to Duard and Vera Swanner. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jim Swanner, and loving wife Sheila. Bill graduated from Jordan High School, Long Beach, CA. After high school, Bill attended Long Beach State University where he played baseball (catcher) and graduated with a P.E. degree. He also graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Masters of Divinity degree. Later he trained at Chapman University and became a Licensed Professional Marriage and Child Counselor. Because of Bill's Christ-centered life, he pursued a loving passion for his family and service to others. Left to cherish their memories of Bill are his wife, Karolyn; son Chris Swanner and wife Randi of Cardiff, CA; daughter, Sheree Cohen and husband Steve of La Palma, CA; son Scott Swanner and wife Susan of Dallas, TX; and son Dan Swanner and wife Krista of Ojai, CA. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel on Thursday, October 30th at 1pm, at 3933 Northwest Pkwy, Dallas, TX, 75225. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Scofield Memorial Church's mission fund.
