McCORD, Mrs. Kay Lynn Age 74, of Dallas, Texas passed Saturday, October 25, 2014. Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, October 30, 2014 at First United Methodist Church Richardson 503 N. Central Expressway, Richardson, Texas 75080; Recep-tion to follow. She was preceeded in death by her mother and father, and her daughter Melinda. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Carl McCord; sons Guy and his wife Patricia McCord, Greg and his wife Heather McCord, daughter Cindy McCord; and her four grandchil-dren, Mason, Hannah, Mia, and Andrew McCord. Born April 12, 1940, she was the daughter of Robbie Faye and U.D. Walker and sister of Barry Walker of Oklahoma. She grew up in Snyder and Lubbock, Texas. While attending University of North Texas, she met and married Carl McCord, Class of 1959 Texas A&M University. She was a deeply affectionate and loving mother, and shouldered the burdens and cares of those she loved. She considered her husband and family her greatest accom-plishment and her love for them was boundless. She lived her faith quietly, with principle and conviction. She was passionate about cooking and shared her love for others by cooking for them. She knew no stranger and showed compassion and empathy to all in need. She was known for her great sense of humor and infectious laughter. She lit up the room with her energy. Gifts in memory may be made to First United Methodist Church, Skuinksloof Primary School. Located in South Africa, this school educates 80 plus children ages 5-13 years. They learn with few school supplies and teachers have almost no teaching tools. FUMCR has been involved with the school for many years and Kay Lynn was passionate about the importance of education for children. Your donation will provide school supplies, teaching tools, water, electricity, food, and building supplies.
