Go, Girl

Word to the wise: Today is not the day to dress like a go-go girl from the ’60s. I was at Starbucks earlier this morning when a man said, “You must be cold!” And I smiled, pointing from the end of my dress to where my boots began, “Only from here to here,” forgetting for just a moment about my freakishly small knees. He gave me a sympathetic smile.

By the way, the barista spelled my name right, one of the few Starbucks employees that has heard of the exotic name, “Eileen.” Over the weekend (different location), they asked me my name, twice, and when my no-water soy chai was ready, the woman called out, “Annette? Annette? I’ve got a chai at the bar.” I walked up, took my drink, and looked at the spelling on the cup.

“Anin.”

So Anin is taking her coffee and heading to the Capitol today for the swearing-in ceremony of the 81st Legislature. As you can imagine, the anticipation is killing me. Especially if you’re really into microblogging, which is basically blogging on crack.

Let’s hit it. (That’s what she said.)

When is the pink mafia party/semi-virgin auction?

Is tweeting having a canary in a cage, to avoid toxic hot air from the legislayers?

I don’t suppose you’d consider syncing your Facebook status to your Twitter?

I hate twitter. I much prefer live-blogging. Because then we can respond. What did Smithee say? I got bumped off as soon as he started. Damn interwebs.

Straus is speaking, and I can hear Eileen screaming in the background.

What is the latest? Am I supposed to be reading the Twitter?
