Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse is going a little bit country for its feature on the Cooking Channel.

The Cincinnati restaurateur's Louisville steakhouse will be highlighted on "Steak Out," a show hosted by Kix Brooks of the legendary country duo Brooks & Dunn. The show follows Brooks as he travels across the country in search of America's best steakhouses.

"Any time you get noticed, it's a great thing," Ruby said. "To be included with other terrific steakhouses and have someone like Kix, for whom we have great respect, recognize us as one of his favorites, that's really special."

Brooks recently opened his own steakhouse in Shreveport, La., fulfilling a lifelong dream.

"We really appreciate Kix and the Cooking Channel including Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse in Louisville in the show," said Britney Ruby Miller, director of operations. "Considering how well he knows this business, we're flattered he took the time to speak with us and show his fans what a great quality product we deliver."

Brooks said it has been interesting to see steakhouses all across the country, from small towns to big cities.

"I really think that local steakhouses say a lot about the personality of their community, so this show was a great way to get to know a few towns and their people better over a great steak dinner and a glass of wine," he said.

The "Steak Out" episode that focuses on Jeff Ruby's will air at 8 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 2, and at 10 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 7, on the Cooking Channel.
