Three Lahey Health hospitals are losing top leaders to retirement this year, as the CEO of Beverly and Addison Gilbert hospitals as well as the CEO of Winchester Hospital will retire effective Jan. 15.

Phil Cormier, the current chief operating officer at Beverly and Addison Gilbert Hospitals, will replace the institutions' 65-year-old CEO Denis Conroy. Likewise, Dale Lodge, current president and CEO of Winchester Physician Associates, will succeed 61-year-old Winchester Hospital CEO Kevin Smith.

"We are enormously grateful to both Denis and Kevin for their leadership and their substantial contributions to the strength of our system," said Howard Grant, president and CEO of Lahey Health, in a prepared statement. "They are leaving a legacy of uncompromising patient and work place focus that will continue for years to come."

Lodge was CEO and president at Winchester for 10 years before spending the past five years as president and CEO of Winchester Physician Associates.

"When Kevin succeeded me as CEO of Winchester Hospital, I was confident I was leaving the hospital in capable hands. Kevin has been a steady leader for Winchester Hospital, and set our organization up for great success," Lodge said. "I'm honored to take on this role again, especially now that Winchester is affiliated with Lahey Health, and to build on the great results Kevin and his team achieved."

Beverly Hospital and Addison Gilbert in Gloucester have been a part of Lahey since 2012. Winchester Hospital subsequently joined the newly named Lahey Health in mid-2014.
