BJ's Restaurants Inc. will bring its first Texas brewpub to Temple, north of Austin, an investment worth roughly $2.5 million, according to the Temple Economic Development Corporation.
The California-based restaurant chain will locate the brewpub in downtown Temple, near East Central Avenue and North 12th Street. The chain already operates a number of restaurant and brewhouses in Texas. This location, however, will primarily be tasked with supplying craft beer to BJ's locations throughout the state. It will include a tasting room for customers to sample the product.
Company officials expect that the brewpub will bring eight jobs to Temple in 2015. The site is expected to open for business in early 2015.
The company currently operates 156 restaurants nationwide, including 32 in Texas and four in Central Texas.
