Let us know in the Reporting Spam thread in our Help Forum. We want Vimeo to be a fun place for everyone so let us know quickly and we'll remove the offending user from the site. Help us keep Vimeo spam free!

Because we treat this as a legal issue, you'll need to submit a formal takedown request so we can start the process. Head to our DMCA page to get the ball rolling.

We recommend contacting the site administrator and asking them nicely to remove your video. Another option is to make your video private using any of the available privacy settings.

If you want total control over where your videos can be embedded, check out domain-level privacy, a feature available exclusively to Plus and PRO members.

Please send that user a message asking them nicely to refrain from sharing videos or sending messages to you. If they continue to share videos or send messages, you can block them or contact us for help.

Vimeo does not allow videos that contain explicit depictions of nudity or sexual acts (in most cases), nor do we allow videos that seem primarily focused on sexual stimulation. (There are plenty of other websites for that.)

Of course, Vimeo respects creative expression above all else. That’s why we allow depictions of nudity and sexuality that serve a clear creative, artistic, aesthetic, or narrative purpose.

We also allow non-sexual nudity, including naturalistic and documentary depictions of human bodies.

Be sure to rate your content appropriately.

Although Vimeo allows artistic and non-sexual nudity, these videos must still be marked with a “Mature” content rating.

If you see a video that violates our guidelines or isn’t rated appropriately, please flag it for a moderators attention.

The Guidelines state:

• No videos that are hateful, harass others, or include defamatory or discriminatory speech.

This means that Vimeo moderators will generally remove videos that:

• Make derogatory or inflammatory statements about individuals or groups of people
• Are intended to harm someone’s reputation
• Have an overall mean-spirited vibe
