If you’re reading this job description, you probably have an idea of what web analytics jobs are like. Spreadsheets are always involved. Google Analytics is often abbreviated to "GA" and people are sometimes described as "conversions." You often hear incredible expressions such as "What's our ROI with this SEM CPA?" and "We must widen the funnel!" This job is a little different from that. Because while it does involve some of the standard trappings of analytics employment, it also involves cool, smart people who use technology to do cool, smart things that enable people to be creative and share their creations with the world (or with just their friends).

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Be the web and mobile analytics lead at Vimeo, the official best video website on the planet
  • Perform site-wide analysis to provide business insights and recommendations for product and marketing programs, i.e., help us make our stuff work better
  • Develop tagging and tracking requirements and guide the implementation process
  • Join analytics data with internal log data in order to align metrics and provide deeper insights
  • Support A/B and multivariate testing initiatives. Maybe even A/B/C when things get crazy
  • Be an expert on current industry trends and best practices (We're assuming you actually like this industry and care about the latest advancements.)
  • Manage our relationships with web and mobile analytics vendors
  • Provide training and support to Vimeo employees eager to use web analytics tools. Fun for all!

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-4 years of experience in a web analytics role, ideally at a human-facing technology company
  • Deep experience with Google Analytics and/or Adobe Marketing Cloud (aka Omniture)
  • Knowledge of analytics implementation process on web, iOS, Android and experience working with technical teams to implement tags
  • Knowledge of marketing attribution techniques for a subscription-based service (that's kind of our thing)
  • Strong analytical skills and data sensibility, which is probably pretty obvious if you're even considering this job
  • The willingness to work speedily when necessary
  • Collaboration: you're into it
  • The ability to take on multiple projects at once, while paying attention to all of them, while remaining cool and calm

BONUS POINTS:

  • Experience with video analytics (also our thing)
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with Tableau or similar visualization tools
  • Experience with Localytics or similar mobile analytics tools
  • Experience with Google Analytics API or Google BigQuery

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US:

Vimeo is the quality, open video platform for creative people around the world. Vimeo was founded in 2004 by filmmakers who wanted a fun, easy, uncluttered way to share their work and moments from their lives. We remain true to that mission by continually striving to help people with a wide range of passions share the things they create and care about. In everything we build for creators and their audiences, our goal is simple: make life worth watching.

Today, Vimeo reaches a monthly audience of over 170 million creators and viewers — and we’re growing bigger every day. Vimeo is made with love by a highly ambitious, ridiculously innovative, and certifiably hilarious team based in New York City, and we’d love for you to be a part of it.
