Creators are our bread and butter. They are our ice cream sundaes and cherries on top. Our pepperoni, as well as our pizza. Point being, we are starving. Also, more importantly, we care immensely about creators! Since the inception of Vimeo, our team has striven to not only meet their basic needs, but to build the tools they want most.

On October 16, 2008, we took a major step forward in our patronage of such creative endeavors. On that day, six years ago, we announced the arrival of Vimeo Plus, our first-ever premium subscription service. We offered Plus members tons more storage space, HD embedding, a fully customizable player, and ad-free viewing. All they had to do was give us money, but it seemed like a fair deal for everyone.

Over the years, we’ve continued to add to the plethora of Plus features for creators. We also launched a little thing called Vimeo PRO. And by sheer coincidence, or perhaps no coincidence at all, yesterday marks one year since the all-new, even-more-powerful Vimeo PRO made its debut.

Cue dreamy piano music. Cue fog machine. Grab an electrolyte-enhanced beverage and allow us to jog, or stroll rather because jogging is too tiring, backward in time…

(Or bypass the sentimentality and go look at Vimeo Plus and Vimeo PRO.)

VIMEO PLUS

Then
Before Vimeo Plus materialized on the horizon, video uploaders were limited to 2GB/week and just 1,000 HD embedded plays. Good, but not great. We knew we could do better. So we did.

Now
Today, Plus members get up to 5GB/week (26GB/year) of storage space and unlimited HD embedded plays on any device, all included in an annual membership (or monthly for commitment-phobes). And since launching Plus, we’ve added awesome things like: Advanced Stats, priority support, priority video conversion, domain-level privacy, player customization, and more.

VIMEO PRO

Then
In August of 2011, we handed Vimeo PRO members all the goodness of Vimeo Plus, along with 50GB of storage, 250,000 embedded HD plays, Portfolios, Video Review Pages, and support for third-party players. A year later, we added Tip Jar (for Plus, too!) so creators could make money off their videos. And one year after that, we birthed a beautiful Vimeo On Demand baby to make self-distribution ridiculously easy for creators of all stripes.

Now
When we revamped Vimeo PRO in October 2013, we lavished our beloved uploaders with 20GB/week (1,000GB/year) of storage, unlimited HD plays on any device, VIP support, FTP uploading, and other niceties. We’ve also been continually adding to the creator tools that power Vimeo On Demand, making it even easier to sell your work, your way.

FUTURETIMES

So there's a condensed history of our star-crossed love affair with video creators everywhere. The story doesn’t end here, though. We’re still working compulsively to add to and evolve all our products. Have feedback for us? Is there a feature you’re dying (not literally dying, because we can't help) to see? Jot it down in the comments.

And if you haven’t yet experienced the strong yet gentle embrace of our premium products, we strongly but gently suggest you give Vimeo Plus and Vimeo PRO a try.

Feature request: Support for 4k playback. To add to that; would be cool to be able to 'replace' content to keep stats, etc -- for those who have 4k version of existing content on Vimeo. Thanks guys!

A less compressed poster frame for embedded videos also and faster 1080p streaming would be helpful too.

I agree, another feautre would be for the user to pick between, 480p, 720p, 1080p, and 4k

I agree, giving the user options to select between 480p-1080p and even 4k would be great.

You can replace content without affecting the stats. There's an option to "Replace This Video" under the "Video File" tab in your video's settings. Or does that action wipe the stats?

Would love to see a feature which LIMITS how many times a video can be played - as event film makers it bugs the hell outta me knowing draft versions of our films are being played all over the place by couples and their friends/families... would rather have a feature which allows the video to be played X times and then it stops!

this morning I submitted a request / question to Adobe Premiere clip to see if they are planning to add a VIMEO upload feature to the new mobile Adobe Clip app.... foreplay for Premier Pro. Currently they have youtube and social media but no Vimeo. I'd like to be able to upload my B-rolls straight to Vimeo. But if that wish does not materialize, I'll upload from a save on my desktop or Creative Suite storage. Let me know if you are aware of anything going on between Adobe and Vimeo. THANKS!

Would love to see the option of customizing the review pages on Pro. This has been something I've been hoping for since it came out.

A more error free embed function with Facebook and Google Plus would be much appreciated. Integration with Chromecast also please. Stats on android vimeo app are still non-functional on our phones. Overall, though, we are HIGHLY satisfied with the Pro version.
