For young professionals forging a career path can be challenging, VML CEO Jon Cook shares some words of wisdom he would have liked to been given at age 22.

Cook, who joined the Kansas City-based global marketing agency in 1996, was named CEO in 2011. During his time at VML, he has worked with brands, such as American Century Investments, Gatorade, Kellogg, Southwest Airlines and Colgate-Palmolive. In 2014, he was named the Advertising Professional of the Year by the the American Advertising Federation of Kansas City.

In our video interview, we asked Cook to share what advice he would give himself at age 22 if he could travel back in time.

Leslie covers retail and restaurants, and creates Web stories and other online content.
