"Not only is this the largest and fastest-growing automotive market in the world, but the Chinese government is committed to confronting the pollution and environmental degradation that has coincided with the nation's rapid growth," CarCharging CEO and founder Michael D. Farkas said in a news release.

The company created a subsidiary, CarCharging China Corp., to handle operations there.

CarCharging saw revenues climb to $973,000 in the second quarter of 2014 compared to $78,000 in the same period last year.
