DENVER — The man who went missing during a Broncos game last week and was located safe in Pueblo told police he had his fill of football and left the stadium.

Paul Kitterman, 53, of Kremmling, was last seen in the level two concourse during halftime of Thursday's Broncos game. The family filed a missing person report with the Denver Police Department Friday.

He was found Tuesday more than 100 miles from where he went missing. Pueblo police say Kremmling was located at 2:58 p.m. in front of a furniture store near the Pueblo Mall.

Police said a family friend had called 911 saying that they picked him up at a Salvation Army and took him to a Rodeway Inn in Pueblo. Officers immediately went to the motel to try and find him but he was not there.

A short time later, officers received a call from the owner of Benfatti Furniture who saw Kitterman. Police later located him at a Kmart store. Kitterman told officers that he had his fill of football and left the game, but he didn't say how he got to Pueblo.

The circumstances behind his disappearance are not known, but police do not suspect foul play. The Denver Police Department referred questions to Kitterman's family.

Jarod Tonneson, Kitterman's stepson, said his stepfather had left his cellphone at home and did not have much cash. He says Kitterman has no known health problems and does not use drugs.

Earlier Tuesday, the body of a middle-age man was found near train tracks near Sports Authority Field, but it was quickly determined it was not Kitterman. The body has not yet been identified.
