Finance report out and Denton residents donated $210 to pro-fracking anti ban group while out of town pro-frackers and industry donated $466,185. Denton residents cannot be bought or fooled. Thanks to everyone for the letters to the editor,... neighborhood walking, poll working and support.
As I lay my tired head down tonight I will sleep a little easier knowing what a strong, powerful and smart bunch of neighbors I am surrounded by.
The wind is at our back and we are on the verge of making history. We have stood strong and are fighting to protect ourselves because no one else will.
Remember we still need poll workers. There are still several days for voters to go to the polls. The other side has hired workers to lie and mislead voters so come help us give voters the correct information.
Vote FOR the proposition FOR the ban on hydraulic fracturing.

Setting the record straight in the DRC today: "...It’s sad to note that all the money behind their deceptive campaign could have been spent on better practices to protect Denton residents. They are not investing in our community. They are exploiting it..."

Working at the polls can be inspiring - talking to all our supporters and seeing the children who are learning citizenship from their parents. This is all for our kids - so that they can grow up in a safer, healthier, more prosperous Denton. Thank you!

Live in Denton and have 5 min to help pass the ban today? Then send over your letters to the editor before the 5pm deadline. After this, they will not be taking any new letters concerning the vote so now is your chance to voice your support... for the ban. Tell your story about why you are FOR prohibiting fracking in city limits. Feel free go to our website for more fracking facts. Letters only need to be 50-200 words but will help in a huge way! http://www.dentonrc.com/opinion/ See More
We felt a shift the moment we announced the petition for the ban. People came out from the dark corners of apathy and hopelessness. They rekindled a sense of citizenship and put their creative talents in service of the commonweal. And now we can feel our city rising up.

“I am a Newt Gingrich, “Drill, Baby, Drill” kind of person,” said Terry, a longtime conservative activist who seemed to echo the feelings of some others in the [Republican] crowd. ”I’m very pro-drilling. Unfortunately, and it sounds very self-serving, I don’t want it in my back yard.”
