SMC Business Councils moves to Cranberry

SMC Business Councils has moved its headquarters to Cranberry Township from Churchill while adding new services for startup companies.

The offices for the trade association and insurance broker are located in the Westinghouse business park off Route 228. President Steve Shivak said the size of the new facility is roughly the same as the Churchill site at about 6,300 square feet, but the "big, open area" layout allows better use of space.

"The layout is so much more conducive to a team environment," he said. "It's a good space and a great location."

The offices can accommodate the agency's 14 Pittsburgh-area employees, with room to grow to 24 employees. SMC will also offer startups with plug-and-play access to offices, meeting rooms and other facilities for a low monthly fee.

SMC runs a nonprofit education and advocacy group and a for-profit insurance agency, which has offices in Harrisburg. SMC was founded in 1944.
