Vimeo is looking for a seasoned PR professional to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is a self -starting dynamo who will work closely with the Director of Communications to continuously amplify Vimeo’s unique product and brand values across consumer, trade and social media outlets. Your primary focus will be supporting Vimeo’s Creator Platform initiatives, leading campaigns and driving the strategy around product announcements that help drive our subscription business by targeting creative professionals, consumers and B2B verticals.
Since we’re a small team, you will have the opportunity to support other PR efforts, from handling speaking engagements for the executive team – including development of talking points for executives -- to supporting our Audience Networks and VOD communications. A strategic mindset with the ability to plan six month out, along with strong writing, pitching, and relationship-building skills are an absolute must. You should also possess the ability to collaborate with and lead a room of business and product executives.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Drive PR strategy for various product announcements.
- Write press materials, including messaging documents, press releases, briefing sheets and provide wrap-up reports for announcements.
- Manage incoming PR inquiries, evaluating for relevancy and determining appropriate spokesperson as needed.
- Monitor media activities and activity within the industry.
- Act as point person for Vimeo speaking engagements: identify key topics and events relevant to Vimeo, secure speaking opportunities for Vimeo executives, assist in development of speakers’ materials, talking points and promote engagements via relevant channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with consumer, tech, trade and digital entertainment media.
- Uncover new media opportunities and contacts within consumer press.
- Work closely with multiple product leads to search out the best stories in the company and identify opportunities to tell them.
- Manage relationship with external vendors as needed.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD POSSESS:
- BA/BS degree required
- 5+ years of PR experience – consumer / digital media/ tech industry strongly preferred
- Creative, positive, and high-energy individual with an ability to execute flawlessly
- Highly articulate, crystal clear verbal and written communication skills, with a passion for delivering complex messages in simple, understandable ways.
- Insane attention to detail; typos should give you heart palpitations.
- Self-starter able to prioritize and manage multiple projects on different timelines
- Deep relationships with consumer, tech and trade media
- Experience handling multiple projects and stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently and within teams
