HPD chief seeks $105 million to hire hundreds of new officers

Why lower crude prices are good for the oil industry
The quickest way to ruin a barbecue chicken is to let the fire get too hot. The same is true in business, and until a few weeks ago, nothing had been hotter than oil this year. High crude oil prices have certainly fueled innovation and economic growth over the last four years, and the dozen or so major construction projects in downtown Houston are driven by the oil boom.
