Booger County emissions also foul DFW air

in Air pollution, Booger County

Last week Downwinders At Risk blogged about the lame excuse TCEQ uses to excuse oil & gas polluters. The example in that post was air pollution coming from Freestone County which is southeast of DFW.

Robertson County aka Booger County is another source of significant emissions that blow this way. As this map shows, the two counties are almost side-by-side.

But I don’t think fouling DFW air is the main point. People live in Booger and Freestone Counties and they are suffering from the bad air and irresponsible oil & gas development.

Look at the dates of these pictures and you will see that this is not a one-time event. I’ve blogged about the problems in Booger County many times.

The complaint that accompanied these photos: had a chemical kind of odor.  Smelled bad on road. smelled it at our place this AM about 1/2 mile away. it’s (I believe) a vent from a glycol dehydrator reboiler vent.  Has gotten much worse in recent days.

The complaints from Booger and Freestone Counties are numerous but there has been ZERO help for the people.

This is why we must Stop the Frack Attack.

Looks to me like somebody better get some white paint on that thing else it could cause cancer. Painting gas sites so they look clean will protect us from cancer.

Booger County is a VERY pollution friendly County in Tx. There are more that a dozen of these stinking gas processing plants, dozens of compressor stations, hundreds and hundreds of sour gas wells with treating equipment on these sites, pipelines everywhere, not to mention many stinking chicken houses. The locals love all this stuff. Don’t come here for quiet, rural residential living! Oh, and HIGH residential taxes!!
