Commercial Vehicle Group Inc. has promoted from within to replace the outgoing chief of one of its signature divisions.

Geoff Perich replaces Kevin Frailey as head of the New Albany company's global construction and agriculture business.

The company (NASDAQ:CVGI) announced Frailey's departure this month, a little more than a year after promoting him to the role.

Perich joined CVG in August as managing director of the Asia/pacific region, where he was based in Shanghai, China. He'll remain there in his new role.

He spent 19 years at Caterpillar Inc., where CEO Rich Lavin was a group president based in China before joining CVG.

Lavin said the Asia/pacific region is the biggest opportunity for the company's construction and ag business.

"It is crucial that our global organization have strong executive leadership representation in this part of the world," he said in a statement.

Frailey had been in charge of the company's military business, too, but Lavin will now take over the segment now.
