Camargo Pharmaceutical Services has named Steven Castillo as vice president of drug development for the Blue Ash company.
Before joining Camargo, Castillo was a biotechnology consultant. His more than 25 years of experience includes expertise in clinical operations, clinical pharmacology, medical affairs, biostatistics, pharmaco vigilance, business development and executive management.
"Steven is a tremendous asset," said Ken Phelps, CEO of Camargo. "His experience in each stage of drug development, combined with outstanding leadership qualities, strengthens our team and will better support the success of our clients."
Camargo specializes in guiding companies to obtain federal approval for new drugs under Section 505(b)(2) of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act. The goal is to fast-track new drugs to market.
"Steven's expansive therapeutic experience, specifically in immunology, will be valuable for our clients looking to move products through the 505(b)(2) approval pathway," Phelps said.
Over the course of his career, Castillo focused on a range of therapeutic development areas, including infectious disease, oncology, ophthalmology, dermatology and biologics. He also worked on combination products delivered through medical devices.
Brunsman covers Procter & Gamble Co. and health care.
