Texas and North Dakota continue to lead the nation in oil production, producing nearly half the oil in the country.

Texas produced more than 3 million barrels per day in June, or 35 percent of the crude oil in the country. Much of the growth in production comes from the Eagle Ford Shale and Permian Basin.
