Goalie nods: Fleury to start fifth straight for Pens

Pittsburgh keeps ridin’ Fleury

The Pens will stick with Marc-Andre Fleury in goal tonight when they host the Flyers in an NBCSN Rivalry Night game at Consol. Fleury, who stopped 34 of 35 shots in Saturday’s win over the Islanders, has played every game this season for Pittsburgh and posted solid-if-unspectacular numbers: 3-1-0, .915 save percentage and 2.50 GAA.

For Philly, it’s unclear who will get the start. Steve Mason played last night in a 4-0 loss to Chicago and was busy, stopping 39 of 43 shots, so it’s possible the club could go to Ray Emery in the second of a back-to-back. (Update: sounds like Emery.)

Elsewhere…

Caps at Oilers: Braden Holtby for Washington; Ben Scrivens likely for Edmonton

Sabres at Ducks: Frederik Andersen for Anaheim; Jhonas Enroth likely for Buffalo

So happy I am alive to watch this historic hockey season. The Pens are falling apart, and the great Washington Capitals sit in first place of the Metro division. Can’t wait to see Ovi raise the cup. Great time to be a C-A-P-S, CAPS CAPS CAPS fan. Cheers!

Caps, have the same problem the Pens have – on the hoped for path to the SC, they’d have to face the Hawks, Kings, Ducks or Blues.

      Not a pretty picture.

I did a “like kind” response. Saw an obvious homer comment unrelated to the thread, so I added a homer comment.

Guess I should have made it obvious by ending with a “I’ll see your homer comment and raise you one”.

A non-homer, on point response would have been my 1st impression before I saw the homer comment. MAF and the Pens D are currently playing well enough to get to the playoffs, likely not good enough to get to or win a conference championship.
