BOSTON (CBS) – The injury bug is starting to take a toll on the New England Patriots.
WBZ-TV Sports has learned defensive end Chandler Jones will miss a month with a hip injury.
Jones appeared to hurt it on a play in the second quarter last Thursday night while chasing Jets quarterback Geno Smith.
Jones was briefly replaced, but he did return and finished the game.
He was not seen at practice Tuesday.
The Patriots have already lost linebacker Jerod Mayo and running back Stevan Ridley for the season with knee injuries.
Multiple reports Tuesday night also claimed the Patriots have signed former Buffalo Bills defensive lineman Alan Branch, who was released in August following a DUI arrest.
Shalise Manza Young of the Boston Globe joined 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher & Rich Wednesday morning to discuss the latest news with the Patriots, including the Jones injury, the Ayers trade and the Branch signing.
