Since merging with Progress Energy last year, Duke Energy has become the largest energy utility in the country. It has the power to rapidly invest in clean energy solutions, but instead it continues business-as-usual by relying on an outdated, dirty coal plant in Asheville that is polluting our air and water.

The coal plant in Asheville is the largest single contributor to climate disruption in Western North Carolina, releasing carbon dioxide into the air every year equivalent to 500,000 cars on the road.
