Welcome to the home page for the Oil and Gas Task Force. On September 8, 2014, Governor John Hickenlooper issued executive order B 2014-005 establishing a task force regarding the state and local regulation of oil and gas operations that will report its recommendations to the Governor no later than February 27, 2015.

The Task Force members are comprised of representatives from local government, civic organizations, environmental interests, agriculture, and affected industries. The task force will focus on how to most reasonably and effectively balance land use issues in a way that minimizes conflicts while protecting communities and allowing reasonable access to private mineral rights.
