In the months leading up to the opening of the new building in spring 2015, Whitney members will have access to events and programs as well as other member benefits hosted at various NYC locations.
Choose Core Benefits for one or two and then customize your benefits by selecting the Series of your choice.
Members at our Contributing Levels provide important philanthropic support to the Whitney. Contributing level members may join the Founding Membership program by selecting a two-year membership option or by enrolling in our Auto Renewal program; in both cases we will apply 10% of your first year membership gift to the Whitney Museum Capital Campaign. For the two-year option, if you would like to receive your 10% discount and donate a different amount to the Campaign, simply call our offices at (212) 570-3641.
All Friend-level members receive invitations to opening receptions for all major exhibitions, a special limited-edition gift, Core Benefits for two, and four one-time use guest passes.

All Patron-level members receive invitations to opening receptions for all major exhibitions, a select exhibition catalogue, evening programs including exhibition tours, and two admissions for accompanied guests.

Whitney Circle members receive all Patron level benefits, invitations to VIP exhibition receptions and viewings, exhibition walkthroughs with senior curators, events around NYC like artist studio visits and private collection tours, and admission for an additional two accompanied guests (four total).

Fellow-level members receive all Circle level benefits, as well as semiannual Breakfasts with the Director featuring conversation with an emerging artist, a special Whitney Fellow event, and admission for an additional two accompanied guests (six total).

This dynamic group of young patrons, ages 21 to 40, enjoys special access to the Whitney and the NYC art scene. Participation begins with a contribution of $500 or $1,000.
As a member of the Whitney's young patron group you'll enjoy special access to the Whitney’s curators, artists, and the New York art scene. Additional Founding Contemporaries Patron Benefits:
A discounted membership is available for working artists residing within the United States who work in one or more of the media that are represented in the Whitney’s collection, including painting, sculpture, drawing, print, photography, film, video, and digital media. Applicants are required to present documentation upon joining or renewing. Accepted forms of documentation include a website, current CV listing exhibitions or other relevant projects, or a recent exhibition announcement.
