Print Magazines Prove More Effective than Digital

Despite the landslide of advertising dollars from print to digital, printed periodicals still prove one of the most effective advertising channels.

Media companies are in various stages of determining the economics of shifting magazine publications from print to digital. In some cases, companies are in that awkward stage of sending out both digital and print versions of their publication and they may be struggling with the decision to cease their print versions. Meanwhile, advertisers are focused on wanting to know which format will help them reach their target audiences. A Virginia Tech study regarding attitudes of the recipients of its alumni magazine sheds some light on this topic.
