    At least two taken to hospital following Mid-County accident

    At least two people were taken to the hospital after a Freightliner dump truck and a Ford F-150 pickup collided Wednesday afternoon in Mid County.

    The accident happened just before 1 p.m. near the intersection of Highway 366 and Detroit.  The Department of Public Safety, Port Neches Police and Nederland Police officers responded along with ambulance crews.

    Officials release identity of man whose body was found in Sabine Pass

    Officials have released the identity of a man whose body was found over the weekend in Sabine Pass near Sea Rim State Park.

    The deceased is identified as Joseph Ryan Nedbalek, 22, of Pasadena. 

    UPDATE: Missing Louisiana teen found safe

    Dakota Schexnider, the 15-year-old Singer, LA girl who went missing Tuesday afternoon, has been found.

    According to Beauregard Parish Sheriff's Office Chief Criminal Deputy Toler, Schexnider showed up safe at her home Wednesday morning. Chief Toler said they are working to decipher all the specifics of this case.

    Child death investigated by officials in Orange

    Orange County officials are investigating the death of an infant.

    The two-month old child was pronounced deceased at Baptist Hospital Orange shortly after 10 a.m. Monday.

    Tropical Depression #9 develops in the Gulf

    Tropical Depression #9 developed in the Gulf of Mexico overnight. The depression was nearly stationary 120 miles west of Campeche Mexico. Winds are sustained at 35 mph. Tropical Depression #9 is expected to drift east over the next couple of days. The depression is no threat to Southeast Texas but could cause some delays as far as ship travel in the Caribbean.

    Port Arthur man guilty of felony murder in death of club owner

    A Jefferson County jury Wednesday found a Port Arthur man guilty of felony murder in the shooting death of a Port Arthur business owner.  The verdict was reached shortly after 3 p.m.

    The Jury ended its first day of deliberations Tuesday evening after spending nearly 5 hours trying to reach a verdict in the trial of 20-year-old Brandon Tran.

    Former BISD finance director and former comptroller begin stay in federal prison

    12News has learned that former Beaumont Independent School District Finance Director Devin McCraney and former comptroller Sharika Alison have begun their stay in federal prison.

    McCraney checked into the Federal Correctional Facility in Oakdale, Louisiana and Alison checked into the facility in Bryan, Texas.

    As early voting continues, Bridge City ISD is pushing to pass a bond for school improvements but some parents do not approve of where some of the voting is taking place.

    The $25 million bond proposal includes a new band hall, which is why a polling location scheduled to be open the same night and place as a band concert has caused some controversy.

    The current head of the Mexican drug trafficking organization, the Gulf Cartel, or Cartel del Golfo, made an initial appearance Tuesday in Beaumont on drug trafficking charges, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney John M. Bales.

    Juan Francisco Saenz-Tamez, 23, of Camargo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, was arrested by federal agents on Oct. 9, 2014 while shopping in Edinburg, Texas.

    The future of the Beaumont Independent School District police department remains uncertain, but its existence is assured for a few more weeks.  The department survived what appeared to be an effort by the board of managers to enact drastic cuts.

    Chief David Hall stood in front of the board Monday afternoon, knowing his officers' jobs were on the line. He told us, "I expected them to try to get me to cut more people, that's their job to try to save money for the district."

    Pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint

    The Groves Police Department are still on the lookout for the suspect who robbed a pizza delivery driver at gunpoint Monday night.


    The robbery happened in the 5900 block of Smith in Groves.
