In just over three months, the passenger rail line into the centre of Newcastle will be permanently shut down. With the city's developers mired in controversy over revelations at the Independent Commission Against Corruption, what confidence do the people of the city have in a decision which will see the line shut, only to be replaced with a light rail system for which a construction start date has not even been set, and the rail corridor considered for development?
