We're almost halfway done with the fall events (to the disappointment of not very many people) and switching coasts this week as the PGA Tour heads to Georgia for the McGladrey Classic.

Let's take a look at the festivities:

What: McGladrey Classic
Where: Sea Island, Georgia
When: Oct. 23-26
How to watch: Golf Channel (2-5 p.m. ET all four days)

Participants and odds

Matt Kuchar: 12-1
Webb Simpson: 12-1
Chris Kirk: 14-1
Bill Haas: 16-1
Zach Johnson: 18-1
Harris English: 25-1
Nick Watney: 25-1
Martin Laird: 28-1

Field strength: D

You have all the Sea Island guys (Kuchar, Johnson, English) playing ... and not much else after that. Jason Dufner is playing Australia, Rory McIlroy is taking time off, Tiger Woods just started hitting balls again -- it seems like everything is so spread out this time of year which makes for some pretty poor fields in the United States.

Past winners

2013: Chris Kirk
2012: Tommy Gainey
2011: Ben Crane
2010: Heath Slocum

Ben Crane and Webb Simpson went to a playoff in 2011 and yeah, that's probaby the best tournament of the four so far (it started in 2010).

When is the Masters again?

OK, let's pick this thing. With Sang-Moon Bae and Ben Martin both in the 2014-15 clubhouse with wins already it appears that my "pick young guys in the fall" approach has some merit. I'm just picking the wrong ones.

Expert picks

PlayerGradeAnalysis
WinnerHarris English finished T27 at this tournament last season before winning the next week in Mexico. He had a T16 last week in Las Vegas and he's coming home, literally. Odds: 25-1
Top 10Matt Kuchar finished T7 here last season and T20 in 2011. He had a T21 at the first event of the season in Napa and he'll be tough to keep out of the top 10 this week in Sea Island. Odds: 12-1
SleeperI'm going with the Sea Island trifecta here in picking Lucas Glover. He's only made one cut since May but did finish T40 at this tournament last season. That's all I'm hanging on to. Odds: 400-1
