Steelers fashion show Friday at Heinz Field
October 22, 2014 12:00 AMYou’ve cheered for them on the field. Now see your favorite Steelers show off their fanciest footwork on the catwalk at 6 p.m. Friday in “Steelers Nation: Black & Gold Style,” the 40th anniversary benefit that supports the Cancer Caring Center and the UPMC Sports Medicine concussion program.
Guests will be treated to dinner at the East Club Lounge at Heinz Field, followed by a runway show with fashions from Pittsburgh-based designer Kiya Tomlin. She will feature some of the latest looks from her Uptown Sweats collection, styled for the occasion in Steelers colors. Fashion models, players and their families also will be dressed in selections from other brands and designers, including Macy’s, MODA Pittsburgh, Michael Kors, Nicole Miller, Tuxedo Junction, BCBG Max Azria, Outerstuff and Robert Graham.
The event is chaired by Greta and Art Rooney II and Ms. Tomlin and her husband, coach Mike Tomlin. Cam Heyward and Kelvin Beachum are this year’s fashion show co-captains. Honorary co-captain will be Rocky Bleier, one of the founders of the event in the 1970s. Individual tickets are $250 at 412-802-8256.
