Here’s Benedict Cumberbatch in a Feminist T-Shirt

All the Cumberbitches are pretty excited

Well, looks like Mr. Benedict Cumberbatch is the latest male celebrity to proudly embrace the f-word. Behold:

ELLE UK called on the Sherlock actor to pose in a t-shirt featuring the slogan “This is what a feminist looks like,” created by equality campaigning organization the Fawcett Society. As part of its upcoming feminism issue, the magazine recruited Cumberbatch — along with other actors like Tom Hiddleston and Joseph Gordon-Levitt — to show their support.

Naturally, Cumberbatch’s many fans (also known as Cumberbitches) are pretty excited.

Here are Gordon-Levitt and Hiddleston:

Watch Ice Cube Perform Magic Tricks on Sesame Street

Yup, this a former N.W.A member hanging out with Elmo

In what was probably the least gangster rap thing he’s ever done, rapper-turned-actor Ice Cube stopped by Sesame Street this week to kick it with Elmo.

He starts off with a quick vocabulary lesson (he teaches Elmo the meaning of the word “astounding”) and then performs a series of magic tricks. He runs through the usual suspects: making a large coin disappear, making something jump out of a top hat and so on. But the pièce de résistance comes at the end when he turns himself into an ACTUAL ICE CUBE. Get it?

For whatever reason, Mr. Cube did not use this appearance as an opportunity to promote his new album, Everythang’s Corrupt.

2015 Will Be the Last Time Tina Fey and Amy Poehler Host the Golden Globes

"There's nowhere to go but down!"

The 2015 Golden Globes will be bittersweet for fans of Amy Poehler and Tina Fey.

While promoting her book Yes, Please on the Today Show Tuesday, the Parks and Recreation star said that January will mark the “third and final” time she and Fey co-host the awards show.

“It’s the law of diminishing returns, which is why this is our last time,” Poehler said. “Unless you want to be a perennial host, there’s nowhere to go but down!”

But could this be the “farewell tour” that keeps on going? Poehler joked, “We’ll be the Jay Z of the Globes and never retire.”

You can watch Poehler make the announcement below:

Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin Split Up

Oscar-winning actress no longer dating Gwyneth Paltrow's ex

Chris Martin and Jennifer Lawrence are no longer dating, People Magazine confirmed Monday.

The Oscar-winning actress, 24, was first linked to Gwyneth Paltrow’s 37-year old ex (and Coldplay frontman) in August, after she split from her boyfriend, X-Men co-star Nicholas Hoult. They haven’t been publicly out and about much, aside from two occasions where Lawrence came to see Martin perform, and neither has ever publicly confirmed the relationship.

They were last seen together on Oct. 21, after Martin’s “friendly dinner” with his ex, Gwyneth Paltrow, with whom he has two kids.

In her interview with Vanity Fair published earlier this month, Jennifer Lawrence said she was looking for a guy who “isn’t afraid to fart in front of me [rather] than to have big, passionate love. I’d rather have just a peaceful time. [Those relationships] are deeper because you can be your true self with somebody, and somebody can be their true self with you.”

Now that they’ve broken up, there go all the “Martin Lawrence” jokes you never made.

No, That Wasn’t Paul Rudd Tackling an Airport Homophobe

Hunky mensch who took down violent bully looks like Paul Rudd, is not Paul Rudd

Sorry, amateur celebrity sleuths — the actor Paul Rudd was not involved in the tackling of a man shouting homophobic slurs in a Dallas airport last week.

A man who looked almost exactly like the This Is 40 star was caught on video helping to tackle a man who yelled homophobic slurs and kicked another man waiting in Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport last week.

After the man became violent, a group of people swarmed him and brought him to the ground, with the help of a wavy-haired hunk in a checkered shirt who looks a lot like Paul Rudd. The video of the incident quickly went viral, amid rumors that the Hollywood funnyman was involved.

But Paul Rudd’s rep confirmed to TIME on Monday afternoon that the man with a noble heart, quick reflexes, and a strong sense of social outrage is not Paul Rudd.

Ladies: That means there is a mensch out there who looks like Paul Rudd but isn’t Paul Rudd, and also appears to be nice, hunky, and quick to stand up to injustice.

Daniel Radcliffe Shuts Down ‘Sex Symbol’ Stereotype

And calls everyone out for treating Emma Watson differently

Cue the melting of Harry Potter fans’ hearts everywhere: when asked about being a sex symbol in a recent AP interview, Daniel Radcliffe came up with the perfect response.

As part of a discussion about his past roles, the reporter asks Radcliffe whether it’s strange to have gone from being the boy wizard Harry Potter to a grown-up sex symbol.

In response, he describes a conversation he had with someone who referred to him as an “unconventional” romantic lead: “She said, ‘Well, I think it’s probably the fact that, you know, we associated you with playing Harry, the young boy wizard.’ My immediate response was, ‘Well, the male population has had no problem sexualizing Emma Watson immediately.'”

OK Go’s New Music Video for “I Won’t Let You Down” Won’t Let You Down

As long as you’re into mesmerizing umbrella choreography

OK Go’s approach to music videos has been nothing short of pioneering, often generating visuals that are even more memorable than the songs they accompany. The band’s latest effort, for the single “I Won’t Let You Down” off their recently released album Hungry Ghosts, is brought to life by umbrella-wielding dancers and aerial videography. While they may never top their creation of the world’s largest Rube Goldberg machine, the results here are nonetheless impressive.

Some shots conjure Busby Berkeley, the Hollywood choreographer known for his mesmerizing bird’s-eye-view shots of synchronized swimmers and dancers. Others look like a life-sized Lite-Brite, using the opening and closing of colorful umbrellas to generate images and spell out words. The four band members cavort through the shots riding Honda UNI-CUBs, which are kind of like seated Segways that look uncannily like robotic penguins. Honda also contributed the “multi-copter” camera used to shoot the video.

The song itself is synth-heavy and dance-worthy, though ultimately less likely to stick with listeners than the video’s images. OK Go’s commitment to arresting visuals and feats of choreography is perhaps more responsible for their continued relevance than their songwriting. And as long as they keep up the creative videos—staying true to their promise not to let us down—then there’s nothing wrong with that.

Watch John Oliver’s Brilliant Takedown of the Sugar Industry

Right in time for your Halloween candy binge

What’s more disturbing than a sexy Louis CK Halloween costume? According to John Oliver, the epic amounts of sugar funneled into the mouths of American consumers not just on Halloween, but regularly throughout the year.

Sunday’s episode of Last Week Tonight addressed the fact that American children and adults typically eat 22 teaspoons of sugar a day, which translates to 75 pounds of sugar a year. “That’s like eating Michael Cera’s weight in sugar every single year,” Oliver said.

And it comes in the strangest forms, like Clamato juice (a pleasant combination of tomato juice, clams and 11 grams of sugar to hide the fact that you’re drinking clams) and cranberries (Ocean Spray says it should be exempt from adding disclosure labels due to the “unpalatable” taste of cranberries sans sugar.)

Oliver thinks the biggest problem is how much sugar Americans eat unknowingly, often due to vague regulation standards. Luckily he has a hilarious proposed solution to modifying labeling to let consumers know what they’re eating — and it’s just too good to ruin.

Kelly Clarkson Performs a Soulful Gospel Version of Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off’

And Tay totally loved it.

Everybody — especially Kelly Clarkson, we now know — has been super pumped for today’s release of Taylor Swift’s new album, 1989. At a concert in Buffalo, NY, this weekend, Clarkson treated fans to a cover of “Shake It Off,” Swift’s ultra-catchy forget-the-haters anthem from the new album.

She starts off with a very soulful, stripped-down, Clarksonian take on the tune before launching into the song’s original, dancey mode during the chorus. Fans were, of course, really into it, as was Tay herself:

Now we just have to wait patiently until Clarkson covers all the songs from the new album.
