Lewisville police say attack isn’t the first in recent months

Police say an attack in which a woman was dragged under a bridge earlier this month is not the first in recent months.

On Oct. 9, a man pulled a woman under the Timber Creek Bridge near Highway 121 and Southwest Parkway in an attempted assault. The man fled when the woman screamed and people could be heard on the bridge.

The suspect is a Hispanic man between 20 and 30 years old with a muscular build.

Police said that at least one other woman was similarly attacked, but they’ve had reports of several other assaults in the same area in the past 60 days. Lt. Scott Haynes said most victims describe similar attackers. He said the attacks appear random.

Police ask anyone with information to call 972-219-8477.
