One of Dallas’ most well-known food trucks, Nammi Cruisin’ Vietnamese Fusion, is going indoors. Co-owners Teena Nguyen and Gary Torres opened a permanent Nammi spot inside Valley View Center today, according to a press release from the pair today.
“Ever since we hit the road in 2011, we always dreamed that if our food truck adventure went well, we would open a restaurant. Well, Nammi fans, that day has come,” Nguyen said in the release.
The new restaurant is basically a take-out restaurant with a few tables available inside and out, “more of a test kitchen to-go,” Nguyen told me. They are having a soft opening now, with a grand opening date to be determined later this month, “so we can get out all kinks,” Nguyen said.

If you’re a big fan of Nammi’s two bright blue trucks, don’t worry — the trucks will continue rolling through Dallas, bringing banh mi to the masses. You can find their schedule here. The restaurant includes the same options you get on the truck, plus a new “kitchen approved” menu. (No silkworm or jellyfish, though.) The drinks menu includes a variety of teas, iced black coffee, jalapeno mint lemonade and basil mint lemonade.
Nguyen and Torres also own and operate the Coolhaus ice cream sandwich food truck, and will be serving their ice cream at the new restaurant.
Hours for the new restaurant are as follows, although Nguyen cautions that they might not adhere to those hours strictly as they figure out what works during the soft opening: Tuesday-Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Sunday noon-6 p.m. Closed Mondays.
The addition of Nammi brings another interesting tenant to Valley View, which is in the beginning stages of a major overhaul by its new owners. Ain’t No Mo’ Butter Cakes, longtime tenants at the Dallas Farmers Market, opened a location at Valley View last fall.
