Danyele McPherson, former contestant on 'Top Chef: Seattle,' will be running the kitchen at Remedy. It's expected to open before the end of the year. (Kevin Marple )
Restaurateur Elias Pope, owner of the Greenville Avenue Paleo restaurant HG Sply Co., told me back in March “people are going to be surprised” about his nearby Greenville Avenue restaurant called Remedy.
The concept today doesn’t sound all that surprising, but it is interesting: Remedy will be an American restaurant that will serve BLTs, grilled cheeses and pot pies.
The restaurant will also make its own soda, but don’t call it a soda shop. Instead, executive chef Danyele McPherson describes the place as a restaurant that will serve dressed-up versions of what her mom used to make.
McPherson moved to the top toque job at Remedy after serving as chef de cuisine at the Grape. She’s joined by executive pastry chef Guillermo “GMO” Tristan, who will make pies and ice cream sundaes.
There’s more info to come about the bar program. Remedy is expected to open in late November or early December.
