GE Device Recalled for Brain Injury Risk to Neonates
Weitz & Luxenberg is investigating a Class 1 FDA recall of a defective product that may pose a deadly risk to infants. Several types of GE products used by medical providers to resuscitate infants have been found to present a risk of delivering incorrect oxygen levels, threatening to cause serious brain injuries or other complications. Read more about the recall here, and contact Weitz & Luxenberg to discuss your case.
Drug Recalled for Missing Main Ingredient, May Pose Fatal Threat
Weitz & Luxenberg is currently investigating claims that a medicine used to treat a rare and serious condition may lead to fatal complications. According to the FDA, some L-citrulline products marketed by chemical supplier Medisca may actually contain little or no L-citrulline, an amino acid supplement used to treat urea cycle disorders. Medisca has recalled select lots of the drug, but the FDA is concerned that patients – mostly children – who relied on L-citrulline supplementation to prevent potentially fatal levels of ammonia from building up in their bodies could have already been confronted with serious consequences, including death. If a loved one has experienced health problems while taking L-citrulline products, please contact Weitz & Luxenberg to get more information.
