The Denton County Republican Party is hosting a screening of the documentary FrackNation at 3 p.m. today in the Commissioners Courtroom at the Courthouse on the Square.
FrackNation documents Phelim McAleer’s search for the truth about hydraulic fracturing, a technique used by the oil and gas industry to unlock oil and gas reserves in shale and other geological formations.
The filmmaker confronts “green extremists” for the truth about fracking and talks with rural Americans whose livelihoods are at risk if fracking is banned.
McAleer made the film after confronting Josh Fox, the filmmaker of Gasland and Gasland II, and paid for the film with funds raised through a Kickstarter campaign.
