Vote for fracking ban
The gas and oil industry as well as many elected officials seem to be incredulous that there are people in Denton who oppose fracking. These people, it seems, do not love America and are against our economic welfare.
I am a person who deeply loves my country and the city of Denton in which I reside. I am against fracking. I am also a pragmatic realist who understands the value of money and energy. We need it; it is a necessity of life.
I also believe we could thrive just fine, both economically, and certainly health wise, without fracking in our city limits.
Fracking makes an unhealthy environment. I know many people in Denton who are fatigued, and have problems with being weak and have asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and other respiratory illnesses.
I live one mile from four gas wells near Guyer High School. I see kids playing soccer every afternoon, just a few feet from those gas wells. Since I moved here in 2001, Denton has changed from a beautiful town to one that, in its present state, is undesirable to live in. I want the real Denton to return. Please vote for the fracking ban.
Pattie Hankey,
