Businesses are forming their 2015 budgets, but one line item is standing in the way, The Business Journals reports.
Companies that employ a minimum of 100 people will face fines in 2015 if they don't provide health insurance. However, a number of companies are turning to insurance brokers and law experts to avoid the fines and avoid the additional costs of health insurance coverage. One avenue for avoiding penalties is to enroll employees in Medicaid or offer plans with minimal coverage.
According to The Wall Street Journa l, businesses could face fines of $2,000 per employee for failing to provide coverage.
