A 40-year-old man has been accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old relative.
Ezequiel Martinez-Chavez has been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child. He remains in the Dallas County jail in lieu of $50,000.
Family members reported seeing Martinez-Chavez kiss a 12-year-old girl on the mouth. When the girl’s godmother asked her about it, the girl said that Martinez-Chavez had touched her inappropriately. He was arrested Tuesday night after relatives called police to an Old East Dallas restaurant where Martinez-Chavez was, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
The girl told police that Martinez-Chavez had been touching her twice a week for a year. The sexual assaults often occurred in the girl’s room, with her 14-year-old brother sleeping nearby, police records show.
The girl also told police that Martinez-Chavez had exposed himself to her at least once, police records show.
