Smokers will find fewer places to light up come spring, when newly passed restrictions take effect in Mecklenburg County.
County commissioners voted Tuesday night to ban all tobacco on greenways, and to prohibit smoking on government properties and in government vehicles, according to WBT-AM. Tweaks to the original policy mean smoking will still be allowed at regional parks and golf courses, except under special regulations for events.
The new restrictions begin in March.
