Chef Matt McCallister’s cooking is probably the most exciting in Dallas; he’s one of the most talented young chefs in the country.
Matt McCallister’s vibrant Design District restaurant gets so much right, from the thoughtfully mixed, ever-changing list of cocktails to pastry chef Maggie Huff’s beautiful desserts. In between is McCallister’s Nordic-style naturalist cooking, which celebrates the greatest ingredients of the season, often foraged or custom-grown. Wine director Jeff Gregory has put together a terrific list of wines from around the world, with plenty to excite the wine adventurer. As general manager, he’s also in charge of a waitstaff that delivers impeccable, knowledgeable, passionately enthusiastic service. McCallister’s $95 seven-course tasting menu, served only Tuesday-Thursday, is a great way to experience his cooking at its most daring and creative. Full bar. Closed Sunday-Monday.
